A Pear Between Us
A hand-built stoneware dish featuring my original artwork of two little birds perched together amongst pear leaves and fruit. There is something quietly conversational about the pair — a small moment of companionship captured amongst the branches.
Made by hand with a softly undulating, organic edge, the dish is finished with a gentle glaze that brings depth and warmth to the natural stoneware while allowing the delicate monochrome illustration to take centre stage.
Inspired by garden birds, old botanical drawings and the imperfect beauty of the English countryside, each piece is both functional and a small work of art.
A Pear Between Us
Two little birds upon a bough,
with nowhere else to hurry now.
A pear hangs low, the leaves are still,
the garden quiet beyond the hill.
No need for words, no need to roam,
for sometimes love is simply home.
